Nigma is your OGA Dota PIT S2: Europe CIS Champions

Team Nigma completed the tournament journey with a fascinating Grand Final match versus Alliance. OGA Dota PIT S2 has become yet another tier2 regional tournament won by Team Nigma in the 2019-2020 season. However, this time Miracle- and Co did not drop to the Lower Bracket at the playoffs start. The team, known as the Lower Bracket kings, arranged the voyage through the Upper Bracket this time.

Nigma Champions Way

Team Nigma started the tournament with a quarterfinal match versus FlyToMoon which resulted in a convincing 2-0 victory by Nigma. Then followed a match versus OG that was celebrating Ceb return right before the event kicked off. OG with Ceb claimed that they are going to win the tournament, same as Meanwhile, Nigma kept silent and just did a perfect job, defeating OG with a score of 2-0.

In the Upper Bracket Final, Nigma met Alliance. Miracle and Co have lost the first map but managed to retaliate and crush Alliance in two <30 min maps that followed the opening map defeat. In the Grand Finale, we saw one more battle of Nigma and Alliance, this time in a bo5 format. There is not enough room in this post to describe how amazing the Grand Final was. So, I just say that Nigma won it 3-2.

In general, Nigma was mixing normal performance with a brilliant one but did its best in the critically important maps. Like losing the 2-0 advantage in the Grand Final and still notching the victory. Heading into the event start, it became known that Nigma captain “KuroKy” will miss OGA Dota PIT S2. Thus, the support position was covered by the team coach – rmN-. To be honest, I thought that this change is rather decreasing Nigma’s chances of winning the tournament. But the coach was incredible. Roman Paley really showed his team an example of superb performance, evoking a question about the effect of playing coaches one more time.

How do you think, would Nigma still win the tournament without rmN- in support position? Is the playing coach more effective than a classic one? Share your opinion in the comments.
