The Clash of Cards event is still live in Clash of Clans, and players who have not finished their collection still have time to catch up. The main event runs through August 31, while card trading and reward claims remain available until September 2 at 08:00 UTC.

At this stage of the event, the smartest approach is not to spend Gems blindly or recycle every duplicate immediately. Claim the remaining free Card Packs, use Clan trading to fill specific gaps, and save Trader exchanges for categories where your collection is actually missing cards.

Players returning after a break can use BUFFHUB's Clash of Clans Guide 2026 as a refresher for Town Hall progression, Heroes, armies, Ores, Clan systems, and other core mechanics.

Clash of Cards Event Dates and Eligibility

Clash of Cards launched on August 1, 2026 as part of the 14th Clashiversary celebration. It is available to players at Town Hall 3 and above.

The main collection event runs through August 31, but Supercell gives players a short grace period afterward. Trading closes on September 2 at 08:00 UTC, after which your collection remains visible through the Clash of Cards decoration.

That September 2 deadline matters more than the August 31 season change if you are still trying to finish the collection.

How Do You Get Card Packs?

Each Card Pack contains one Card, and several sources are available throughout August.

Card Hunt

Card Hunt is the main repeatable source.

During battle, destroy the correct marked building to earn the pack. Players can earn up to two Card Packs per day from battles, and the event can provide up to 68 cards from battle-based sources across the month.

If you are catching up on August 20, these daily packs should be your first priority because there are now fewer event days left.

Starter and Tutorial Packs

Players received 10 Card Packs at the start of the event, while completing the Card Collecting tutorial provides another pack.

Supercell Store

Store tasks run from August 3–30 and can provide additional Card Pack opportunities. This remains relevant for players catching up late in the month.

Trader Free Packs

The scheduled free Trader packs appeared on:

  • August 4
  • August 11
  • August 18

Since all three dates have already passed as of August 20, do not build your remaining collection plan around receiving another scheduled Trader freebie unless an additional one is announced.

Awesome Medal Event

The Awesome Medal Event, which runs from August 12–31, also provides bonus Card Packs on its free reward track. No Event Pass is required for those free-track packs.

This makes the Medal Event one of the most important remaining catch-up sources during the final part of August.

Card Rarities and Drop Chances

There are four Card categories, each with a published individual drop chance.

Card Type Number of Cards Drop Chance per Individual Card
Elixir 19 2.25%
Dark Elixir 13 1.64%
Builder Base 11 1.53%
Super Troop 17 1.12%

The important detail is the individual Card chance, not simply the category name. Each individual Super Troop Card has the lowest listed rate at 1.12%, so Super Troop gaps can become more frustrating near the end of a collection.

That does not mean you should immediately spend every duplicate on Super Troop packs. Check your own missing cards first.

How Does the Collection Screen Work?

The Collection screen shows which Cards you own and which remain missing.

A greyed-out Card means you have not collected it yet. One owned copy stays in your collection, while additional copies become duplicates that can be used for trading or Trader exchanges.

You cannot trade away your only copy.

This protection makes duplicate management simpler: spending or trading an extra does not delete the Card that is already registered in your collection.

Should You Trade Duplicates Before Recycling Them?

For most players trying to complete specific missing slots, Clan trading should come before random Trader exchanges.

The reason is simple: a direct trade can target a Card you actually need, while a random Trader pack can still produce another Card you already own.

You can request missing Cards from the Collection screen and send the request to Clan Chat. Requests have a cooldown, and Gems can be used to skip that cooldown.

Before spending Gems, ask whether waiting actually threatens your September 2 deadline. Early in the event, paying to skip every cooldown offers little value. Near the final deadline, it may become more useful if one trade completes your collection.

Has the Online Trading Requirement Changed?

The original August 1 announcement stated that both Clanmates needed to be online to complete a trade at launch and said the system was planned to change.

The current Support information no longer mentions that requirement, while community reports after the August 6 maintenance indicated that offline trading had begun working.

Because that later behavior is community-reported rather than clearly documented in a dedicated patch note, use the current in-game trading prompt as the final reference.

How Does the Trader Shop Work?

If Clan trading cannot fill your remaining gaps, duplicate Cards can be converted through the Trader.

The available exchange options include:

  • 2 duplicates of the same Card → 1 Random Card
  • 2 duplicates → 1 Random Elixir Card
  • 2 duplicates → 1 Random Dark Elixir Card
  • 2 duplicates → 1 Random Builder Base Card
  • 3 duplicates → 1 Random Super Troop Card

Because your final copy cannot be traded away, you need at least three total copies of a Card before using the two-duplicate exchange options.

The best time to use these exchanges is after you understand where your collection is weakest.

If you are missing several Builder Base Cards, a targeted Builder Base exchange makes more sense than opening a completely random pack. If only Super Troop Cards remain, preserving duplicates for the Super Troop option becomes more attractive.

Clash of Cards Rewards

The event rewards both unique-card milestones and complete category sets.

Requirement Reward
10 different Cards Book of Cards Decoration
20 different Cards 5,000 Shiny Ore
30 different Cards 500 Glowy Ore
40 different Cards 50 Starry Ore
50 different Cards 2 Builder Potions
60 different Cards Manga Fury Prince Skin
Complete Elixir set Rune of Elixir
Complete Dark Elixir set Rune of Dark Elixir
Complete Builder Base set Rune of Gold
Complete Super Troop set Legendary Chest

The event also provides the Clash of Cards Decoration as the permanent access point to your collection. Do not confuse that with the Book of Cards Decoration awarded at the 10-card milestone.

Which Rewards Matter Most for Progression?

For progression-focused players, the most valuable milestones are not necessarily the flashiest ones.

The Ore rewards at 20, 30, and 40 different Cards directly support Hero Equipment progression:

  • 5,000 Shiny Ore
  • 500 Glowy Ore
  • 50 Starry Ore

The 50-card milestone adds two Builder Potions, while completing individual sets can award Runes or a Legendary Chest.

The 60-card Manga Fury Prince Skin is the collection's final milestone reward, but it is primarily a cosmetic goal. If you cannot finish all 60 Cards, reaching the Ore and Builder Potion milestones can still make the event worthwhile.

Best Catch-Up Strategy After August 20

If your collection is incomplete now, use a simple priority order.

  1. Get the remaining daily battle packs. Do not ignore the repeatable Card Hunt source while the event still has days left.
  2. Progress the Awesome Medal Event. Its free track provides more Card Packs and remains live through August 31.
  3. Check the Supercell Store before August 30. This source ends one day before the main August event period.
  4. List your missing Cards before trading. Identify which category has the most gaps, which exact Cards you need, and which duplicates your Clanmates may want.
  5. Trade before using random exchanges. A targeted duplicate-for-needed-card trade gives more collection control than sacrificing multiple duplicates for a random result.
  6. Save Gems until they solve a real problem. Gems can bypass the request cooldown, but use them only if the time saved meaningfully improves your chance of finishing before the deadline.

What Should F2P Players Prioritize?

Clash of Cards is particularly friendly to players who participate consistently because several major Card Pack sources do not require a paid pass.

These include:

  • Card Hunt
  • Tutorial pack
  • Awesome Medal Event free track
  • Supercell Store opportunities
  • Clan trading

The 60-card milestone itself does not list a purchase requirement.

That does not guarantee every F2P player will complete the set automatically. Random drops create duplicates, and late-stage completion depends heavily on managing those duplicates and finding the Cards you are missing.

What About Low Spenders?

Spending should solve a specific bottleneck rather than replace basic collection strategy.

For example, using Gems to skip a request cooldown may make sense near the September 2 deadline if you have already found a trade that completes an important set. Spending Gems repeatedly in the middle of the event just to avoid waiting offers much weaker value.

Players who already planned to purchase Gems or other available packs can use BUFFHUB's Clash of Clans top-up page as one option. The card collection itself does not require players to spend in order to participate.

What Happens After Clash of Cards Ends?

Trading closes on September 2 at 08:00 UTC.

Your collection does not disappear.

The Clash of Cards Decoration remains in your village as a permanent access point, allowing you to view the collection after the event has ended.

That gives completionists another reason to finish as much of the binder as possible before trading closes: the collection becomes a permanent record of the 14th Clashiversary event.

Final Recommendation

With less than two weeks left in August, the priority is now targeted completion rather than simply opening more packs.

Claim every remaining free source, progress the Awesome Medal Event, compare your missing categories, trade duplicates for specific Cards whenever possible, and only use the Trader's random exchanges after normal trading cannot solve the gap.

For F2P players, the Ore milestones already provide meaningful progression value even if the full 60-card collection remains out of reach. For completionists, the real deadline is September 2 at 08:00 UTC, when trading closes.

Do not wait until the final hours to start looking for the last few Cards.
