Technical issues during Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global prevented some Trainers from joining Raid Battles. The makeup event was originally announced for selected regions, but Scopely later confirmed that the problems were more widespread than first believed.

As a result, the event has been expanded worldwide. The number of free Raid Passes has also been increased from nine to 12 as an additional apology for the confusion and disruption.

This window is longer than each region's local nine-hour event. Trainers can therefore join raids hosted in other time zones before their own local event begins or after it ends.

What Bonuses Are Available During the Raid Makeup Event?

The event bonuses are designed to help Trainers complete more raids and catch raid bosses more easily.

Up to 12 Free Raid Passes

Trainers can receive up to 12 free Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms during the event.

These are standard orange daily Raid Passes. You will normally need to use the pass you are holding before spinning another Gym Photo Disc to collect the next one. Starting the event in an area with several nearby Gyms will make it easier to claim and use all 12 passes.

More Effective Premier Balls

Premier Balls will be more effective at catching Pokémon after raids.

No exact catch-rate multiplier has been announced. Trainers should still use Golden Razz Berries and aim for Great or Excellent Curveball Throws when catching valuable Legendary, Mega, or Super Mega Raid bosses.

Special Background Encounters

Pokémon caught from five-star raids and Mega Raids during the event may have a Special Background.

Mewtwo caught from Super Mega Raids may also have a Special Background. When a Mewtwo with this background is Mega Evolved, its Mega Evolution background will display an additional visual effect.

Special Background encounters are not guaranteed, so collectors may need to complete several raids before obtaining one.

Increased Link Charge Cap

The maximum Link Charge capacity will increase to 2,000 during the event.
