His kit is not as simple as filling a Forte Gauge and pressing one button. To get the most from this Fusion carry, you need to manage his Shield uptime, prepare Ghost Shroud before he enters the field, and use his Resonance Liberation at the right moment. Once everything is ready, he can chain several empowered Heavy Attacks inside one burst window.

This Jingran build guide explains how his skills work, why Thousandfold Deliverance is his best weapon, which stats he needs, and how Iuno and Shorekeeper support his playstyle.
Version 3.6.1 Data Note: Jingran’s current information comes from Version 3.6.1 data. Skill values, materials, equipment, and other details may change before release.
Who is Jingran and What is Their Playstyle?
Jingran is a field-focused Fusion hyper-carry who deals most of his meaningful damage through attacks classified as Heavy Attack DMG. This includes more than Soul Raid and Stardome Meander. The later stages of his Basic Attack, his Dodge Counters, enhanced Resonance Skill follow-ups, Resonance Liberation, and Chimei Wangliang attacks can also benefit from Heavy Attack-related bonuses.
He begins combat in the Yang Font state. After building 300 Qi, he can cast Heavy Attack: Stardome Meander, which consumes the full gauge and changes him to Yin Vessel. When he reaches 300 Qi again, Heavy Attack: Soul Raid switches him back to Yang Font. His rotation therefore moves between these two states instead of staying in one form.
Max HP is one of the most important parts of the build. His inherent effect, Yang Changes, Yin Unites, converts every 1,000 points of Max HP into 52 additional ATK, up to a maximum bonus of 1,820 ATK. That listed cap is reached at 35,000 Max HP.
HP also improves his survivability. His DEF remains at zero at all times, but every 1,000 Max HP increases the healing he receives by 6%, up to 210%. His own Shield also scales with Max HP, giving this stat both offensive and defensive value.
The zero-DEF mechanic may make him look extremely squishy on paper. In practice, he is designed to fight behind a Shield that refreshes as he deals damage. The risky moments happen when Earth Charm is inactive, his Shield breaks, or the player enters the burst window without first setting up the team.
His general playstyle is to let his supports prepare Shields and buffs before he enters through his Intro Skill. Once on the field, he converts Ghost Shroud into Fusion DMG Bonus, generates Qi, activates Yinghuo, and stays active until his enhanced Heavy Attack window ends.
How Do Jingran's Skills Work?
Basic Attacks and Qi Generation
Jingran uses Drink Soul while in Yin Vessel and Devil’s Bane while in Yang Font. Both versions contain four attack stages and deal Fusion DMG.
The later stages are the most important for his rotation. Stage 3 and Stage 4 each restore 50 Qi, so reaching both hits gives him 100 Qi in total. These attacks are also considered Heavy Attack DMG, which allows them to benefit from Iuno’s Outro Skill and other Heavy Attack bonuses.
Many parts of his kit link directly into Basic Attack Stage 2. His Mid-air Attack, Resonance Skill follow-up, Intro Skill, Shadow Step, and state-changing Heavy Attacks can all shorten the attack sequence. This lets him reach Stage 3 and Stage 4 without starting from the first hit every time.
His Dodge Counter is another strong source of Qi. Nether Dive is used in Yin Vessel, while Light Watch is used in Yang Font. Either version restores 100 Qi, deals Heavy Attack DMG, and links directly into Basic Attack Stage 4.
A successful Dodge Counter can therefore generate 150 Qi in a short sequence: 100 from the counter and another 50 from the following Stage 4. Skilled players who can dodge consistently will reach his core Heavy Attacks much faster.
Resonance Skill: Malevolent Encounter
His Resonance Skill changes according to his current state. Yin Vessel gives him Encroaching Yin, while Yang Font gives him Scorching Yang. Both attacks deal Fusion DMG and can be used in mid-air.
Casting either version grants Cleanse of Impurity for four seconds. While this effect is active, pressing or holding Normal Attack triggers an enhanced follow-up. Yin Vessel uses Netherworld Traverse, while Yang Font uses Afterlife’s Guide.
These follow-ups are important because each one deals Heavy Attack DMG and restores 100 Qi. They also link into Basic Attack Stage 2, allowing the next two Basic Attack stages to provide another 100 Qi.
As a result, one Skill sequence can generate 200 Qi when performed correctly. The enhanced follow-up supplies the first 100, while Basic Attack Stage 3 and Stage 4 supply the remaining 100.
Cleanse of Impurity ends if Jingran switches characters, changes between Yin Vessel and Yang Font, or no longer meets its airborne condition. The enhanced follow-up should therefore be used immediately rather than saved for later.
Forte Circuit: Qi Modulation
Jingran can hold a maximum of 300 Qi. Once the gauge is full, holding Resonance Skill activates one of his two core Heavy Attacks.
In Yang Font, he casts Stardome Meander and switches to Yin Vessel. In Yin Vessel, he casts Soul Raid and returns to Yang Font. Both attacks consume all 300 Qi and can continue into Basic Attack Stage 2.
The fastest normal way to reach 300 Qi is to combine his Intro Skill, enhanced Resonance Skill follow-up, and later Basic Attack stages. The Intro grants 100 Qi, the Skill follow-up restores another 100, and Basic Attack Stage 3 plus Stage 4 provide the final 100.
His rotation changes after Resonance Liberation because Wayfarer’s Mark refunds part of the Qi spent on Soul Raid or Stardome Meander. This allows him to repeat these attacks much faster during Yinghuo.
Earth Charm and Shield Management
Casting Question the Tombs, Encroaching Yin, or Scorching Yang grants Earth Charm. While the effect is active and Jingran remains on the field, dealing damage creates an unstackable Shield every 0.5 seconds.
Outside Yinghuo, the Shield equals 1.6% of Max HP plus 700 and lasts for five seconds. During Yinghuo, its value increases to 2.4% of Max HP plus 1,050.
The Shield does not transfer when he leaves the field. This is not a major problem because his Fusion DMG buff from Fortune in Disguise also ends when he switches out. Once his personal damage window begins, the goal is to keep him active rather than quick-swap between teammates.
Earth Charm is also one reason his signature weapon works so well. Every refreshed Shield can activate the weapon’s stacking effects, allowing him to gain Fusion DMG Bonus and Heavy Attack DEF ignore while attacking normally.
Ghost Shroud and Fortune in Disguise
Jingran gains Ghost Shroud when nearby teammates receive Shields. The exact value depends on which part of his passive is active, but the important point is that Shield-generating teammates can prepare this resource before he enters the field.
His Intro Skill, Question the Tombs, deals Fusion DMG, restores 100 Qi, and converts all current Ghost Shroud into an equal number of Fortune in Disguise stacks.
Fortune in Disguise can reach 50 stacks. Each stack gives additional Fusion DMG Bonus based on Max HP. At 35,000 Max HP, each stack reaches its listed maximum of 2.8% Fusion DMG Bonus.
This effect lasts for 15 seconds but ends immediately if he switches out. You should therefore finish all support setup before activating his Intro Skill. Bringing him in too early and then leaving the field wastes one of the biggest buffs in his kit.
Resonance Liberation: Burial of Thousand Souls
Burial of Thousand Souls deals several hits of Fusion DMG and is considered Heavy Attack DMG. It also reduces Jingran’s current HP to 75% of his Max HP, making strong healing and reliable Shield coverage valuable during his rotation.
The Liberation immediately grants 200 Qi, three stacks of Wayfarer’s Mark, and 100 points of Fire of Life. It then activates Yinghuo for 15 seconds.
Wayfarer’s Mark changes how Qi works during this window. When Soul Raid or Stardome Meander is cast, one mark is consumed and 200 Qi is restored. Since each core Heavy Attack costs 300 Qi, he only needs to generate another 100 Qi before using the next one.
Fire of Life powers the actual damage increase. Casting Soul Raid or Stardome Meander during Yinghuo consumes 25 Fire of Life and increases that attack’s multiplier based on Max HP, with the scaling calculation capped at 35,000 HP.
Since the Liberation provides 100 Fire of Life, the current kit appears designed to support up to four empowered Heavy Attacks during one Yinghuo window.
Each Soul Raid or Stardome Meander used during Yinghuo also summons Chimei Wangliang. This summon deals Fusion DMG that is considered Heavy Attack DMG, allowing it to benefit from the same Heavy Attack support effects as the rest of his burst.
Best Jingran Rotation
-
Begin with Shorekeeper, cast her Resonance Liberation, and build enough Concerto Energy to switch through her Outro Skill.
-
Bring in Iuno, activate Lunar Cycle, generate Shields, and cast Absolute Fullness to create the Full Moon Domain.
-
Complete Iuno’s Concerto and switch to Jingran through her Outro Skill. This gives him 50% Heavy Attack DMG Amplification for 14 seconds.
-
Use Question the Tombs to convert Ghost Shroud into Fortune in Disguise and gain the first 100 Qi.
-
Cast his Resonance Skill and immediately use Netherworld Traverse or Afterlife’s Guide. Continue into Basic Attack Stage 3 and Stage 4 to reach 300 Qi.
-
Cast Soul Raid or Stardome Meander, then activate Burial of Thousand Souls. After entering Yinghuo, generate the missing 100 Qi between each empowered Heavy Attack and continue alternating his two states.
The main objective is to use all 100 points of Fire of Life before Yinghuo expires. Avoid switching characters during this window because doing so removes Fortune in Disguise and ends his active DPS phase.
What is the Best Weapon for Jingran?
Thousandfold Deliverance
Thousandfold Deliverance is Jingran’s best-in-slot Broadblade. At Level 90, it provides 413 Base ATK and a massive 72.2% HP secondary stat.
The HP stat is valuable across almost his entire kit. It increases the ATK gained from Yang Changes, Yin Unites, strengthens Earth Charm, improves the amount of healing he receives, and raises the scaling of his empowered attacks during Yinghuo.
At Rank 1, Thousandfold Deliverance also grants a permanent 12% All-Attribute DMG Bonus. Casting an Intro Skill or gaining a Shield gives one stack of both Nature’s Order and Cradle of Life. Shield-based activation can occur once every 0.5 seconds, and both effects can hold up to six stacks for seven seconds.
Each Nature’s Order stack provides 10% Fusion DMG Bonus, reaching a maximum of 60%. Jingran can build these stacks quickly because Earth Charm refreshes his personal Shield whenever he deals damage.
Cradle of Life supports his main damage source. When he performs a Heavy Attack, up to two stacks are consumed. Each consumed stack allows that Heavy Attack to ignore 15% of the target’s DEF, reaching a maximum of 30% DEF ignore.
The weapon does not only increase his stats. Its trigger condition is built around the same Shield loop that already drives his survivability, Ghost Shroud setup, and Iuno synergy. That makes Thousandfold Deliverance a very specialized signature weapon rather than a simple HP stat stick.
Budget and F2P Weapon Options
The provided data does not include a confirmed 4-star or standard 5-star alternative, so Jingran’s best F2P weapon is currently unknown.
A suitable replacement should ideally offer HP%, Crit, Heavy Attack DMG, Fusion DMG, or a general damage bonus. Weapons focused only on Basic Attack DMG or Resonance Skill DMG may be less effective because the largest part of his burst comes from Heavy Attacks.
Until final weapon testing is available, avoid investing heavily in a temporary Broadblade only because it has a high Base ATK. His Max HP conversion and Heavy Attack bonuses may matter more than raw weapon ATK.
Thousandfold Deliverance Upgrade Materials
Upgrading Thousandfold Deliverance to Level 90 requires 330,000 Shell Credits, 6 Fractured Exoswarm Pendants, 6 Worn Exoswarm Pendants, 10 Chipped Exoswarm Pendants, and 12 Intact Exoswarm Pendants.
The weapon also needs 6 LF Carved Crystals, 8 MF Carved Crystals, 6 HF Carved Crystals, and 20 FF Carved Crystals.
Which Gear and Stats Maximize Jingran's Damage?
Is Heart of Evil’s Purge Good for Jingran?
Based on the supplied effect, Heart of Evil’s Purge does not match Jingran’s element. Its two-piece bonus grants 10% Aero DMG, while the five-piece effect provides Crit DMG and additional Aero DMG Bonus after inflicting Tune Strain – Shifting.
Jingran is a Fusion damage dealer, so the Aero bonuses do not improve Soul Raid, Stardome Meander, Burial of Thousand Souls, or Chimei Wangliang. Even though the five-piece Crit DMG effect has some value, losing the elemental bonuses makes this set an inefficient choice for him.
The correct best-in-slot set is therefore to be updated. Heart of Evil’s Purge should not be presented as his recommended equipment unless its effect or his element changes in a later version.
Recommended Main Stats
Until his final Echo set is confirmed, his provisional build should focus on reaching a good balance between Max HP and Crit.
For the 4-Cost Echo, use Crit Rate or Crit DMG based on which stat gives the better final ratio. A build with high Crit DMG but low Crit Rate will make his large Heavy Attack multipliers unreliable.
For the 3-Cost Echoes, Fusion DMG Bonus should normally offer the most direct damage increase. However, one HP% main stat may be useful if it helps him approach 35,000 Max HP without giving up too much Crit.
The 1-Cost Echoes should use HP% because Max HP improves several parts of his kit at the same time.
Provisional sub-stat priority: Crit Rate / Crit DMG > HP% > Heavy Attack DMG Bonus > Energy Regen > Flat HP > ATK%.
The exact Energy Regen requirement is currently unknown. Burial of Thousand Souls costs 125 Resonance Energy and is required to access Yinghuo, so he needs enough Energy Regen to use it once per full team rotation. However, stacking too much Energy Regen may lower his burst damage if it replaces Crit or HP rolls.
How Much HP Does Jingran Need?
A practical early target is around 35,000 Max HP. This value reaches the listed cap for his base HP-to-ATK conversion, his incoming Healing Bonus, and the Max HP calculation used by Fire of Life.
That does not mean every build must force exactly 35,000 HP. A setup with slightly less HP but much stronger Crit stats may still deal more damage. Likewise, stacking far beyond the cap may be inefficient if the extra HP no longer improves his main offensive effects.
The final build should aim to approach the cap while maintaining a stable Crit ratio and enough Energy Regen to activate Yinghuo every rotation.
What Are the Best Team Comps for Jingran?
Jingran + Iuno + Shorekeeper
The best complete team supported by the provided data is Jingran, Iuno, and Shorekeeper. This lineup gives him Heavy Attack DMG Amplification, general DMG Amplification, Crit buffs, healing, Shield synergy, and interruption recovery.
Iuno is the most direct offensive partner. Her Outro Skill gives the incoming Resonator 50% Heavy Attack DMG Amplification for 14 seconds. Since most of Jingran’s meaningful attacks count as Heavy Attack DMG, this buff can affect his Basic Attack finishers, Dodge Counters, enhanced Skill follow-ups, core Forte attacks, Liberation, and Chimei Wangliang.
Her Full Moon Domain also works well with Earth Charm. A character who gains a Shield inside the domain receives one stack of Blessing of the Wan Light, with a new stack available once every 0.5 seconds. Each stack provides 4% All DMG Amplification for ten seconds and the effect can reach ten stacks.
Because Jingran refreshes Earth Charm as he deals damage, he can quickly build Blessing of the Wan Light after entering the Full Moon Domain. At ten stacks, this gives him up to 40% All DMG Amplification, provided he remains on the field.
Iuno also creates a Shield on herself whenever she uses a Basic Attack, Heavy Attack, Dodge Counter, Resonance Skill, Resonance Liberation, or Intro Skill. These Shields can help Jingran generate Ghost Shroud before he enters combat.
Shorekeeper fills the healer and general support slot. Her Stellarealm restores HP over time and can provide up to 12.5% Crit Rate and 25% Crit DMG after it progresses through its Inner and Supernal forms.
Her Outro Skill adds 15% DMG Amplification and gives the active character up to five chances to recover immediately after being hit or launched. This protection is useful for a carry who loses Fortune in Disguise when switched off the field.
The healing is equally important. Jingran’s Liberation lowers his current HP to 75% of Max HP, while his zero DEF leaves him exposed if Earth Charm drops. Shorekeeper helps stabilize those dangerous moments without taking much field time.
A smooth team order begins with Shorekeeper creating Stellarealm. Iuno then enters through an Intro Skill, prepares Full Moon Domain, and builds her Outro Skill. Jingran enters last, converts Ghost Shroud, receives the Heavy Attack buff, and stays active through the entire Yinghuo window.
Alternative Jingran Teams
A second fully verified team is currently unknown because no other teammate data was provided.
In general, alternative supports should offer Heavy Attack DMG Amplification, reliable Shields, healing, general DMG Amplification, or fast Concerto generation. Shield generation is especially valuable because it can prepare Ghost Shroud before Jingran enters the field.
What Materials Are Needed to Upgrade Jingran?
Leveling Jingran from Level 1 to Level 90 requires 170,000 Shell Credits, 4 LF Whisperin Cores, 12 MF Whisperin Cores, 12 HF Whisperin Cores, 4 FF Whisperin Cores, 46 copies of an unnamed boss material, and 60 Cloudperch Seeds.
The name of the 46-count boss material is missing from the provided data and will need to be updated once it becomes available.
Fully upgrading his skills requires another 2,030,000 Shell Credits, along with 25 LF Whisperin Cores, 28 MF Whisperin Cores, 40 HF Whisperin Cores, and 57 FF Whisperin Cores.
He also needs 26 Skyward Glazed Hearts, 25 LF Carved Crystals, 28 MF Carved Crystals, 55 HF Carved Crystals, and 67 FF Carved Crystals.
Character ascension and skill upgrades therefore require at least 2,200,000 Shell Credits in total. This figure does not include experience items, Echo upgrades, or the 330,000 Shell Credits required for Thousandfold Deliverance.
Which Constellations (Awakenings) Are Worth Getting?
Wuthering Waves uses Resonance Chains instead of constellations. Jingran’s early chains focus on Skill and Heavy Attack damage, while the later chains add team buffs, emergency protection, and a much stronger Yinghuo window.
| Level | Effect | Value / Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| S1 | Increases the DMG Multipliers of Encroaching Yin, Scorching Yang, Netherworld Traverse, and Afterlife’s Guide by 60%. These attacks also become immune to interruption. | Good comfort upgrade. It improves his Qi-building Skill sequence and makes it safer, but it does not directly upgrade Soul Raid or Stardome Meander. |
| S2 | Greatly improves Soul Raid and Stardome Meander, restores 300 Qi at the start of combat, raises Ghost Shroud to at least 25, and grants Netherworld’s Boon. The Boon provides 180% DMG Amplification to his core Heavy Attacks for four seconds. | Best stopping point. It improves both damage and rotation speed while giving him a much stronger opening. |
| S3 | Soul Raid and Stardome Meander grant five Ghost Shroud. During his Liberation state, the Max HP-to-ATK conversion rises to 72 ATK per 1,000 HP, up to 2,520 additional ATK. | Strong personal upgrade. Valuable for dedicated mains, but S2 already provides the larger practical power spike. |
| S4 | Whenever a Resonator in the team gains a Shield, all team members gain 20% All-Attribute DMG Bonus for 30 seconds. | Excellent team utility. Shield-heavy teams can maintain this effect easily, but reaching S4 is expensive. |
| S5 | A fatal attack no longer defeats Jingran. He instead gains a Shield equal to 50% of Max HP for 15 seconds. The effect can trigger once every ten minutes. | Mostly defensive. Helpful in difficult content, but it adds little damage compared with the surrounding chains. |
| S6 | Targets take 40% more Heavy Attack DMG from Jingran. Chimei Wangliang’s multiplier increases by 50%, and it can attack once per second for up to 12 additional summons during Yinghuo. | Maximum investment upgrade. It greatly increases both his direct Heavy Attack damage and summon damage. |
For most players, S0 is already the sensible stopping point because his main playstyle is complete without Resonance Chains.
Players planning to invest beyond the base character should consider S2. It gives immediate Qi and Ghost Shroud at the start of combat while heavily improving the attacks that define his damage profile.
S3 remains valuable for committed mains, but the later chains are mainly for high-investment players. S6 completely transforms the Yinghuo window, though the cost is far beyond what most accounts need.
Is Jingran Worth Pulling?
Yes, especially for players who own Iuno and enjoy Heavy Attack-focused hyper-carries.
Jingran has a clear and powerful combat identity. His entire team can be built around preparing one large on-field damage window, and many parts of his kit scale from the same Max HP stat. He also has strong internal synergy between Earth Charm, Ghost Shroud, Fortune in Disguise, and Thousandfold Deliverance.
His biggest advantage is that many attacks count as Heavy Attack DMG. This allows one support buff to improve a large part of his full rotation instead of affecting only one ability.
He also has several ways to build Qi. Basic Attack finishers, Dodge Counters, Intro Skill, and enhanced Resonance Skill follow-ups all contribute to the same 300-point goal. During Yinghuo, Wayfarer’s Mark lowers the amount of setup needed between his empowered attacks.
The main downside is his unusual survivability. Having zero DEF makes Shield uptime extremely important, and mistakes may be punished more heavily than they are on a normal DPS. His best known team also uses two 5-star supports, while his signature weapon appears highly specialized for his HP and Shield mechanics.
He may feel less comfortable for players who prefer quick-swap teams. Fortune in Disguise ends when he leaves the field, so his rotation rewards committing to one long burst window rather than switching characters every few seconds.
The current verdict is yes for Iuno owners, Heavy Attack players, and anyone looking for a technical Fusion main DPS. Players without suitable supports or those unsure about his zero-DEF playstyle may prefer to wait for final release testing.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does Jingran Scale With HP or ATK?
Jingran’s attacks use ATK-based multipliers, but Max HP is the foundation of his build. His inherent skill converts Max HP into additional ATK, and HP also strengthens his Shield, improves the healing he receives, and increases the scaling of his Yinghuo Heavy Attacks.
This means he should not be built like a standard ATK-focused Broadblade character. HP%, Crit, and Heavy Attack bonuses are generally more relevant than stacking as much ATK% as possible.
Why Does Jingran Have Zero DEF?
His Forte Circuit states that his DEF remains at zero at all times. This is an intentional part of his risk-and-reward design rather than a missing stat.
To compensate, he receives a large amount of bonus healing based on Max HP and generates an unstackable Shield through Earth Charm. The Shield becomes stronger during Yinghuo, when he is expected to stay active and deal most of his damage.
He should not be constantly defeated when played with the correct team, but losing the Shield at the wrong time can make him much more vulnerable than a normal DPS.
How Much Energy Regen Does Jingran Need?
The best Jingran Energy Regen target is currently unknown.
Burial of Thousand Souls costs 125 Resonance Energy and is required to activate Yinghuo. He therefore needs enough Energy Regen to cast his Liberation once during each full team rotation.
The final requirement will depend on enemy type, weapon choice, team rotation, and the amount of Energy generated by Iuno and Shorekeeper. Until proper testing is available, prioritize a stable Crit ratio and strong HP first, then add Energy Regen if the Liberation is not ready on time.
