Kingshot Charles Build Guide: Garrison, Justice Fist and Spending

Charles is a defensive Infantry project, and his cost is easiest to justify when your account is responsible for holding a position. A Bear-focused participant and a garrison leader should not receive the same Gen 7 spending advice. His troop kit protects the formation, while his Conquest survival depends partly on whether Justice Fist's one-time recovery has been developed.

Choose a Job Before Choosing the New Infantry Hero

Community Gen 7 discussions disagree because they begin with different accounts. Players emphasizing Bear damage favored Ava, while one player with older Infantry argued that another offensive upgrade would leave their PvP formation too fragile. That disagreement is useful: decide whether you need more damage or whether your damage troops are losing protection too quickly.

If your alliance expects you to hold a turret or another contested position, price a complete defensive Charles build against your current Infantry. If you mainly join stronger players and are satisfied with your existing frontline, completing the new generation is not itself a reason to spend. Recruiting him cheaply and finishing his defensive role are different commitments.

Three Different Forms of Troop Protection

Skill Maximum listed effect What it does not mean
Intimidation Enemy squad Lethality reduced by 20% Not a flat subtraction of 20% from every final damage result.
Iron Bodies Squad damage taken reduced by 20% Not an increase to damage dealt.
Great Justice Squad Health increased by 25% Not a healing cast.

For a defensive lead, compare the next Iron Bodies and Intimidation upgrades alongside Great Justice. Do not add their percentages into a single advertised protection total: they act on different parts of combat. Keep troop composition, reinforcements and opponent strength in view when comparing reports. A larger surviving force after a well-supported defense is not proof that one hero alone caused the improvement.

Coordinate the replacement with the alliance before the event. A new preset helps little if it changes the expected defending role or the equipment is still on another Infantry hero when the position is attacked. Set the defending formation in advance and check which bonuses are being applied.

Survive the Opening Rather Than Budgeting for the Explosion

Vengeance supplies a one-second stun, area damage and a short self-Attack increase. Nimble Soul can halve incoming damage. Parting Gift damages nearby enemies after the mech is destroyed. Treat the last effect as compensation after defeat, not the main reason to let your front line collapse.

Nimble Soul reaches a 50% trigger chance, so a dangerous opening hit may still land without that reduction. A favorable replay does not establish that the same gear safely survives every attempt. If Charles is the hero protecting the rest of the lineup, invest for the ordinary unfavorable outcome rather than depending on repeated lucky triggers.

Prioritize Nimble Soul when survival is the limiting factor; consider Vengeance when he already stays active and the team needs damage or an opening. The stun remains one second across the listed ranks. Raising it is not a way to extend control indefinitely. Parting Gift can finish nearby weakened enemies, but it cannot protect the exposed allies left behind.

Justice Fist Changes the Survival Comparison

Mechanic restores up to 35% maximum Health the first time Charles falls below half Health, then grants up to 30% Defense for the rest of the battle. It triggers once. Shock and Awe separately increases defending-squad Health by up to 15%.

Compare a Charles with the exclusive effect unlocked against the alternative you actually own. Do not judge a bare unlock using a showcase of a finished item. Because the heal uses maximum Health, a Health increase also raises that recovery's raw amount; it does not create a second trigger. Watch whether the fight is lost before the recovery, immediately afterward or much later before deciding what to upgrade.

What Would You Give Up to Finish Him?

The official acquisition page lists Hall of Governors and Daily Deals. Before committing, total the shards and exclusive materials still required for the role you want. Compare that remaining bill with strengthening your active Infantry or developing Ava for offense. Money or materials already spent on recruiting Charles are not a reason to ignore the cost still ahead.

If the existing defender is adequate for your alliance duties, keeping that build and reserving flexible shards is a valid decision. If defense is repeatedly the limiting factor, complete that job instead of splitting the same budget across three unfinished Gen 7 heroes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Mechanic part of his ordinary skill kit?

No. It belongs to Justice Fist.

Does the heal trigger every time Health drops below half?

No. It can activate only once per battle.

Should a Bear-focused account prioritize Charles?

His troop skills emphasize protection. Compare offensive projects first if damage is the only result you need to improve.

Should I maximize Parting Gift before survival?

Not when keeping the frontline alive is the purpose of the build. The explosion occurs after the mech is destroyed.
