Who is Aventurine • Waveflair and What is Their Playstyle?

Aventurine • Waveflair is an AoE carry who builds Punchline and Fervor, then converts those resources into repeated Elation attacks during an Aha Instant. Unlike a traditional hyper-carry, he depends on the actions of the whole team rather than waiting for one support-heavy burst turn.

At Level 80, he has 1,242 HP, 427 ATK, 752 DEF, and 103 base SPD. His maximum Energy is 140. Although his base ATK is lower than that of many standard damage dealers, a large part of his output comes from special Elation damage and repeated random-hit attacks.

Whenever an ally attacks, this Quantum carry can gain Punchline and Fervor. Fast teammates, Follow-Up ATKs, and extra attacks therefore help charge his next burst without consuming more of his own turns. Teams that attack often are much more valuable than passive lineups that only provide generic damage buffs.

The first major target for an Aventurine • Waveflair build is 160 SPD. Reaching this point activates Party of Euphoria, which grants 30% Elation. Every point of SPD above 160 adds another 1% Elation, so SPD remains useful even after the initial breakpoint.

He can also function as the only Elation character in the party. In that setup, ally attacks provide Punchline, Certified Banger value, and additional Aha SPD. If another Elation unit joins the team, he instead gains a direct 100% Elation increase at the start of battle.

This makes him flexible, but he still needs careful support choices. He prefers teammates who apply DEF reduction, All-Type RES reduction, RES PEN, or increased damage taken. Generic DMG Boost buffs are less important because his Elation damage is not affected by normal DMG Boost effects.

How Do Aventurine • Waveflair's Skills Work?

Basic ATK: Torrent, Bullseye Hit

His Basic ATK deals Quantum DMG equal to 100% of his ATK to one enemy. It generates 20 Energy and restores one Skill Point.

This attack is mainly used to repair the team's SP economy. His Skill is more important for damage and resource generation, but forcing it every turn can make a support-heavy rotation difficult to maintain.

Skill: Fatal Shot, Boiling Sands

Fatal Shot, Boiling Sands deals 240% ATK as Quantum DMG to all enemies. After the attack, he gains 2 Punchline and 4 Fervor.

When Certified Banger is active, the Skill also deals 40% Quantum Elation DMG to every enemy. This extra damage is calculated through the Elation system and does not benefit from normal DMG Boost effects.

His Skill is the main button used to start a damage cycle. However, it also resets the trigger count of Old Dream's Gold Rush. Because of that reset, it is often better to let several teammates act before using the Skill again.

Ultimate: Winning Hand, Over the Tempest

His Ultimate deals 400% ATK as Quantum DMG to all enemies. It also grants 5 Punchline, 8 Fervor, and a 25% SPD increase for three turns.

While Certified Banger is active, the Ultimate deals another 72% Quantum Elation DMG to all enemies. The ability therefore combines direct Quantum damage, Elation damage, resource generation, and an important SPD buff.

The SPD increase can help him cross the 160 SPD requirement and then continue adding Elation through Party of Euphoria. For the best burst window, use the Ultimate shortly before an important Aha Instant.

Talent: Place Your Bets, Hear the Deep

The Talent extends the duration of Certified Banger by one turn. Whenever a teammate uses an attack, Aventurine gains 1 Fervor and 1 Punchline.

Fervor can normally reach a maximum of 30. Once it reaches 10, he automatically uses Cheers! To the Blazing Summer. This attack calculates its damage with a fixed 20 Punchline.

After that trigger, the Elation Skill used during his next Aha Instant becomes All in! To the Blazing Summer. The enhanced version consumes stored Fervor and turns it into additional random hits.

This Talent is the main reason fast attackers work so well with him. Every attack from a teammate moves his next Elation burst closer while also adding more Punchline for the team's shared damage calculation.

Elation Skill: Cheers! To the Blazing Summer

The standard Elation Skill first deals 60% Quantum Elation DMG to all enemies. It then deals ten additional random hits, with each instance dealing 15% Quantum Elation DMG to one enemy.

The random targeting gives the attack flexible performance. Against a single boss, all ten hits can land on the same target. Against a larger enemy wave, the damage is spread across the field.

Enhanced Elation Skill: All in! To the Blazing Summer

The enhanced Elation Skill keeps the same AoE hit and ten random damage instances. It then consumes all current Fervor.

For every point consumed, the attack adds one more random hit worth 15% Quantum Elation DMG. At the normal 30-point cap, All in can gain up to 30 additional hits. E2 raises the maximum Fervor limit to 50, greatly increasing the attack's burst ceiling.

Because the enhanced Skill consumes all stored Fervor, it should be used after the team's buffs and enemy debuffs are already active. Spending it too early can waste a large amount of potential damage.

Technique: Stirring Waves in Still Waters

The Technique moves Aventurine forward and attacks enemies he touches while blocking incoming attacks during the movement.

When combat begins through this Technique, he deals 100% ATK as Quantum DMG to all enemies. He also gains 2 Fervor and 20 points of Certified Banger.

This is his best combat opener because it gives the first rotation an immediate resource lead and helps him reach the first enhanced Elation Skill sooner.

Important Bonus Abilities

Party of Euphoria grants 30% Elation when his SPD reaches 160. Every SPD point above that target adds another 1% Elation, with up to 200 excess SPD counted.

Revel in Surging Waves changes depending on the party. With another Elation character, he gains 100% Elation at the start of battle. When he is the only Elation unit, each teammate attack grants additional Certified Banger value and Punchline while increasing Aha's SPD by 25 until the current Aha Instant ends.

Old Dream's Gold Rush gives him 48% CRIT DMG by default. After a teammate uses a Basic ATK, Skill, Follow-Up ATK, or Ultimate, he gains another 48% CRIT DMG for three turns and receives one Fervor. This can trigger up to six times before the count resets when he uses his Skill.

Best Aventurine • Waveflair Rotation

  1. Enter combat with Stirring Waves in Still Waters whenever possible.
  2. Apply DEF reduction, increased damage taken, and other enemy debuffs.
  3. Use Fatal Shot, Boiling Sands to begin generating Punchline and Fervor.
  4. Let teammates attack and trigger their Follow-Up ATKs before resetting Old Dream's Gold Rush.
  5. Use Winning Hand, Over the Tempest before the next Aha Instant.
  6. Cast All in! To the Blazing Summer with as much stored Fervor as possible.
  7. Use a Basic ATK when Skill Points are low, then rebuild the next damage cycle.

Avoid using his Skill too early when several teammates are still waiting to act. Doing so resets the Old Dream's Gold Rush trigger count and may reduce the amount of CRIT DMG and Fervor available for the next burst.

What is the Best Weapon for Aventurine • Waveflair?

Aventurine Waveflair best Light Cones featuring Summer Rides the Surf, Today's Good Luck, and A Little Getaway

Best-in-Slot: Summer Rides the Surf

Summer Rides the Surf is the best weapon for Aventurine • Waveflair. At Level 80, it provides 953 HP, 582 ATK, and 529 DEF. Its passive also grants 18% CRIT Rate, making his relic build easier to balance.

After the wearer uses an Elation Skill, the weapon grants Hype, increasing SPD by 20%. Since this carry gains additional Elation after reaching 160 SPD, the effect improves both his action speed and his special damage scaling.

If the Elation Skill used is different from the previous one, the weapon also grants Trend, increasing Elation by 36%. His normal rotation naturally moves between Cheers and All in, allowing him to meet this condition without changing his playstyle.

The weapon also restores one Skill Point at the start of each wave or after the wearer uses an Elation Skill three times. This improves team economy and makes it easier for several characters to use their Skills during the same rotation.

Best Four-Star Alternative: Today's Good Luck

Today's Good Luck is the most reliable four-star replacement from the supplied weapon options. It provides 12% CRIT Rate and grants 12% Elation whenever the wearer uses an Elation Skill.

The Elation effect stacks twice, reaching 24% at full value. It does not provide the signature weapon's SPD or SP recovery, but its passive is easy to maintain and the CRIT Rate reduces pressure on relic sub-stats.

Alternative Option: A Little Getaway

A Little Getaway grants 20% Elation at all times. After the wearer uses an Elation Skill, their damage also ignores 8% of the enemy's DEF.

This option becomes more attractive when the build already has enough CRIT Rate from relics and traces. DEF ignore is valuable because it can improve the character's Elation damage outside the normal DMG Boost system.

Its main drawback is its lower 423 base ATK. His Skill, Ultimate, and other direct Quantum attacks will deal less damage than they would with the other listed options.

Overall, Summer Rides the Surf remains the clear best-in-slot weapon. Today's Good Luck is the safer four-star choice, while A Little Getaway is useful for builds that already have stable CRIT stats.

Which Gear and Stats Maximize Aventurine • Waveflair's Damage?

Aventurine Waveflair best relics and planar ornaments with Ever-Glorious Magical Girl and Punklorde Stage Zero

Best Cavern Relic Set: Ever-Glorious Magical Girl

The recommended Cavern Relic set is Ever-Glorious Magical Girl. Its two-piece effect increases CRIT DMG by 16%, strengthening the direct damage from his Skill and Ultimate.

The four-piece effect allows Elation damage from the wearer and their memosprites to ignore 10% of the target's DEF. For every five accumulated Punchline gained by allies, the effect ignores another 1% DEF.

The additional DEF ignore can stack ten times. At full value, his Elation damage ignores a total of 20% DEF through the set.

This relic set fits his kit naturally because the team already wants to generate Punchline for Elation damage. The same resource also improves the four-piece relic effect.

Best Planar Ornament: Punklorde Stage Zero

Punklorde Stage Zero increases the wearer's Elation by 8%. When Elation reaches 40% for the first time, the wearer gains 20% CRIT DMG. Reaching 80% Elation for the first time grants another 32% CRIT DMG.

Aventurine can reach these thresholds through his high-SPD trace, signature weapon, and team passive. The ornament therefore provides both direct Elation value and a large amount of CRIT DMG during longer battles.

The recommended setup uses a CRIT Rate Body, SPD Boots, Quantum DMG Boost Sphere, and Energy Regeneration Rate Rope.

CRIT Rate helps stabilize his direct attacks and balances the large amount of CRIT DMG available from his traces and equipment. SPD Boots are important because the build should reach at least 160 SPD.

The Quantum DMG Boost Sphere improves the normal Quantum damage from his Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate. It does not increase Elation damage because the supplied descriptions state that Elation DMG is not affected by DMG Boost effects.

An Energy Regeneration Rate Rope helps him use his 140-Energy Ultimate more often. The Ultimate is important not only for damage, but also for Punchline, Fervor, and its three-turn SPD increase.

SPD is the first priority until he reaches at least 160. After that, focus on CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG while continuing to take useful SPD rolls.

His traces already provide 9 SPD and 18.7% CRIT Rate. The signature weapon adds another 18% CRIT Rate and a temporary 20% SPD increase, so signature owners can usually invest more relic rolls into CRIT DMG.

Extra SPD remains valuable after 160 because Party of Euphoria converts each excess point into another 1% Elation.

What Are the Best Team Comps for Aventurine • Waveflair?

Best Aventurine Waveflair team comp with Mortenax Blade, Ashveil, and Hyacine in Honkai: Star Rail

Aventurine • Waveflair, Mortenax Blade, Ashveil, and Hyacine

The main supplied team uses Aventurine • Waveflair, Mortenax Blade, Ashveil, and Hyacine.

In this lineup, Aventurine is the only Elation character. This activates the solo-Elation side of Revel in Surging Waves, allowing teammate attacks to generate Punchline and Certified Banger value while increasing Aha's SPD.

How Mortenax Blade Supports the Team

Mortenax Blade acts as the team's main amplifier and secondary damage dealer. His Ultimate applies Balefire Bind to all enemies, reducing their DEF by 30% and increasing the damage they receive by 50% for two turns.

These enemy-side debuffs are especially useful for Elation damage. Unlike a normal ally DMG Boost, DEF reduction and increased damage taken can still improve the team's special Elation attacks.

After using his Ultimate, Mortenax enters Infinite Fury and creates a Zone. While the Zone is active, allies deal 50% more damage. Their attacks also help him build Charge for an extra Skill that counts as a Follow-Up ATK.

Those extra attacks feed Aventurine's Talent and help create more Punchline and Fervor before the next All in burst.

How Ashveil Supports the Team

Ashveil adds another powerful source of DEF reduction. His Skill marks one enemy as Bait, and while that target remains on the field, all enemies have their DEF reduced by 40%.

Whenever another ally attacks the Bait, Ashveil can launch a Follow-Up ATK. Aventurine's AoE Skill and Ultimate can hit the marked target while still damaging the rest of the wave, making the condition easy to trigger.

Ashveil also increases ally CRIT DMG by 40% while he is on the field. This improves the direct Quantum portion of Aventurine's kit and supports the recommended CRIT-focused build.

How Hyacine Supports the Team

Hyacine keeps the team alive and gives Mortenax the safety needed to consume his own HP. Her Skill heals the whole party, while her Ultimate restores HP and activates After Rain.

During After Rain, all allies gain 30% Max HP plus 600. This improves the team's survival and also benefits Mortenax, whose damage scales with Max HP.

Her memosprite, Little Ica, automatically heals damaged allies. This helps the team survive longer battles without slowing down the main damage rotation.

Hyacine's Skill and Ultimate can also remove one debuff from every ally through Stormy Caress. This gives the lineup protection against crowd control and other dangerous status effects.

Suggested Team Rotation

Start the battle with Aventurine's Technique. Ashveil should then mark the priority enemy as Bait, while Mortenax uses his Ultimate to apply Balefire Bind and create the Zone.

Hyacine can use her Ultimate when the party needs healing, additional Max HP, or protection against incoming damage. Aventurine should then use his Skill and allow the other two damage dealers to trigger their extra attacks.

Use his Ultimate shortly before the next Aha Instant, then spend the stored Fervor through All in! To the Blazing Summer.

A second complete team cannot be confirmed from the supplied information because no alternative teammates or additional Elation units were provided. To be updated when more teammate data becomes available.

The enemy materials required for his abilities are 33 Tatters of Thought, 49 Fragments of Impression, and 36 Shards of Desires.

The supplied data also lists nine copies of a material whose name is not shown. This material is currently unknown and should be updated once its official name becomes available.

Summer Rides the Surf Upgrade Materials

Raising Summer Rides the Surf to Level 80 requires 385,000 Credits, 4 The Fluffy Hand-drawn Storyboards, 12 The Fluffy Serialization Memorial Issue, and 15 The Fluffy Collector's Edition.

The weapon also requires 20 Tatters of Thought, 20 Fragments of Impression, and 14 Shards of Desires.

Building the character, listed skills, and signature weapon requires 2,953,000 Credits based on the supplied totals. This figure does not include costs that were not shown in the original data.

Which Constellations (Awakenings) Are Worth Getting?

In Honkai: Star Rail, these character upgrades are called Eidolons. Aventurine's early Eidolons improve his damage and Fervor generation, while his final upgrade changes how often he can use the enhanced Elation Skill.

Aventurine • Waveflair Eidolon Effects and Pull Value
Level Effect Value/Verdict
E0 Provides the complete Punchline, Fervor, Certified Banger, and enhanced Elation Skill rotation. Strong baseline. His main playstyle already works without Eidolons.
E1 – Vacation At Stake Grants 24% All-Type RES PEN. Every time he gains 10 Fervor, his Talent can trigger Cheers! To the Blazing Summer. Best early stopping point. It provides a powerful multiplier and more frequent Talent triggers.
E2 – Tidal Fluctuations of Leisure Raises the Fervor cap from 30 to 50. Skill, Ultimate, and Elation Skill also grant another 2 Fervor. Excellent for dedicated mains. It improves Fervor generation and the maximum All in hit count.
E3 – Chilled Afternoon Rendezvous Skill and Talent gain two levels. Elation Skill gains one level. Moderate value. Helpful, but less important than E1 or E2.
E4 – No Deals with the Sun All damage dealt by him ignores 18% of the enemy's DEF. Powerful damage upgrade. It works well with his relic set and team debuffs.
E5 – Dive into the Jackpot Gale Ultimate gains two levels. Basic ATK and Elation Skill gain one level. Moderate value. Mainly useful as a step toward E6.
E6 – Cashing the Past for a Wild Ride Elation DMG gains a 25% Merrymake modifier. After two Ultimate uses, later Elation Skills become All in. Extra All in damage outside Aha Instant no longer consumes Fervor. Transformative high-investment upgrade. It greatly improves burst frequency and long-fight performance.

For most players, E1 is the best stopping point. It provides All-Type RES PEN and allows the Talent to trigger again whenever he gains another ten Fervor.

Players who plan to use him as a long-term main DPS should consider E2. The higher Fervor cap gives All in a much larger maximum number of random hits, while the extra generation makes the rotation faster.

E6 changes how he performs in longer battles, but the character does not need it to complete his normal damage cycle.

Is Aventurine • Waveflair Worth Pulling?

Yes, Aventurine • Waveflair is worth pulling for players who want a fast Quantum Elation carry and already own teammates who attack often.

His main advantage is the way he converts team actions into personal damage. Follow-Up ATKs, extra Skills, and regular attacks all help generate Punchline or Fervor. This gives him strong synergy with aggressive teams instead of passive supports that only wait for one burst window.

He also has strong AoE coverage. Cheers and All in damage every enemy before launching several random hits, allowing him to clear waves while still placing heavy pressure on one priority target.

His SPD scaling gives the build a clear target. Reaching 160 SPD unlocks 30% Elation, and every extra point continues to improve his special damage.

However, he is not a simple low-investment carry. Reaching the required SPD while keeping enough CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG may require strong relics. His supplied premium team also includes three other five-star characters.

Another limitation is that normal DMG Boost effects do not increase Elation damage. Supports that mainly provide generic damage bonuses may not improve the largest part of his output. He prefers characters who reduce DEF, provide RES PEN, increase damage taken, attack often, or interact with Punchline and Aha Instant mechanics.

He is a strong pull for accounts that can support an action-heavy team. Players looking for a simple DPS who works with almost any support may prefer to wait for more information or choose a less specialized carry.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Does Aventurine • Waveflair need 160 SPD?

Yes. The recommended Aventurine • Waveflair build should reach at least 160 SPD.

At that point, Party of Euphoria grants 30% Elation. Each additional SPD point adds another 1% Elation, so the stat remains useful beyond the first threshold.

His Ultimate increases SPD by 25% for three turns. Summer Rides the Surf also provides a 20% SPD increase after he uses an Elation Skill. These effects make the breakpoint easier to reach during combat, but SPD Boots and SPD sub-stats are still recommended.

Does Quantum DMG Boost increase Aventurine • Waveflair's Elation damage?

No. Quantum DMG Boost does not increase his Elation damage.

The supplied skill descriptions state that Elation DMG is not affected by DMG Boost effects. A Quantum DMG Boost Sphere only improves the direct Quantum damage from his Basic ATK, Skill, and Ultimate.

To improve his Elation Skills, focus on Elation, Punchline, Fervor, character level, DEF ignore, DEF reduction, and RES PEN.

Can Aventurine • Waveflair work without another Elation character?

Yes. Aventurine • Waveflair can work as the only Elation character in the team.

When no other Elation unit is present, teammate attacks provide Certified Banger value, Punchline, and additional Aha SPD. This version of the passive works especially well with fast teammates and frequent Follow-Up ATKs.

When another Elation character is included, he instead gains a direct 100% Elation increase at the beginning of battle. Both team structures are supported, but they improve his damage in different ways.
